Resonate worked with composer Braam Du Toit in recording and mixing his fantastic 20 piece string score for Oliver Hermanus’ ‘The Endless River’. From recording multiple perspectives of this huge string section, using various techniques, many of the lead parts were further crafted and overdubbed at our Cape Town room. From there all of the music was mixed in-house at Resonate.
Moonlighting Films further commissioned us to capture all of the locations and ambiences for the film’s sound design. We used a combination of high end DPA mics, Metric Halo and Sound Devices equipment, and drove many hundreds of kilometres to find the perfect landscape for Oliver’s film. From farmlands, forests, roadsides to frogs at ponds, we gathered a huge, definitive compilation of original, location-specific sound. Our forte.
